Park Director is in private beta. The full Privacy Policy will be published before public launch. We do not sell personal information and we do not use your trip data to train advertising models. For questions about what we store while the beta is running, email [email protected].

Park Director ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Park Director application and planning tool. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you create an account and use our Service.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you directly provide to us, as well as information generated automatically through your use of the Service.

  • Personal Identity Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and authentication tokens via our identity provider.
  • User-Generated Planning Data: We collect the specific information you input to plan your trips, including trip dates, wishlists, ride/dining reservations, and group memberships.
  • Technical and Usage Data: We automatically log your IP address, browser type, device type, network request history, and behavioral interactions within the application (such as page clicks and feature usage).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data strictly to run and optimize Park Director. This includes:

  • Managing, securing, and authenticating your user account.
  • Processing and displaying your custom park itineraries, wishlists, and shared group data.
  • Facilitating group collaboration by connecting users who access the same user-generated invitation links.
  • Sending vital transactional communications (such as account creation confirmations, password resets, or critical security updates). We do not send marketing emails or promotional newsletters.
  • Analyzing app usage to fix bugs, optimize performance, and improve user experience.

3. Third-Party Data Processors and Service Providers

We do not sell your personal data. To provide our Service, we share data with trusted third-party infrastructure providers who process information on our behalf. Your data is distributed across the following stack:

  • Clerk (Authentication & Identity): Manages account registration, secure user sign-ins, session authentication tokens, and dispatches all transactional account emails.
  • Neon (Primary Database): Stores all core user-generated content, including your trip data, wishlists, reservations, group membership linkages, shared planning permissions, and collaborative updates.
  • Railway (API Hosting): Hosts our application logic, processes your system requests, and manages temporary backend application logs.
  • PostHog (Product Analytics): Collects anonymous and pseudonymous behavioral event data, feature-flag distributions, and session replays to help us diagnose app issues and understand how features are used.
  • Cloudflare (CDN & DNS): Secures our application network layer and logs standard web request details, including IP addresses, to prevent malicious traffic and optimize loading speeds.

4. Local Storage, IndexedDB, and PWA Features

To allow the Progressive Web App (PWA) to function smoothly, cache layout assets, and support potential future offline capabilities, the Service utilizes your browser's native LocalStorage and IndexedDB.

  • These technologies store specific planning details and session states locally on your physical device.
  • This data remains on your local hardware and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser cache or deleting the installed PWA.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal information and planning data only for as long as your account remains active. If you choose to delete your account, your personal data will be purged from our primary active systems and third-party tools (Clerk, Neon). Please note that residual data may temporarily persist in secure, encrypted database backups for a limited period before being completely overwritten.

6. Children's Privacy

Our Service is strictly intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can remove that data from our servers.

7. International Data Transfers

While we operate out of Ontario, Canada, our third-party infrastructure providers use secure data centers that may be located in the United States or other jurisdictions. By using Park Director, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to, and maintained on, computers located outside of your home province or country, where privacy laws may differ from your local jurisdiction.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any adjustments.

9. Contact Us
